The Motor City Rockers have recalled the rights to goaltender and Davison, Michigan native, Rico Gonzalez.
Gonzalez, a Chatham University alum, joined Motor City after his collegiate career ended in 2023. Gonzalez would play one game as a collegiate signing in 2023, before becoming a mainstay for the Rockers the following year.

As a backup in the 2023-24 season, Gonzalez found his footing in the professional ranks. He appeared in 20 games for Motor City, and showed continual growth throughout the season.
It was during his second full year with the Rockers where Gonzalez blossomed. in 32 games during the 2024-25 campaign, Gonzalez recorded a .919 save percentage while allowing 3.75 goals against per game.
During that season Gonzalez set two franchise records. First, he became the first Motor City netminder to record multiple shutouts in a season, doing so in just a two week span.
Then, weeks later, Gonzalez put together a monstrous 62 save performance against the Binghamton Black Bears.
Gonzalez finished the 2024-25 season third in the league in saves, but played nearly 400 less minutes than any other goalie in the top three.

Last season, Gonzalez spent time with the Pee Dee Ice Cats, Danbury Hat Tricks, and Watertown Wolves.
With Gonzalez returning the Motor City and their new home in Wyandotte, the Rockers have set a strong foundation in the crease.
