Motor City Swings a Deal for Alvo

The Motor City Rockers have acquired defensemen Stephen Alvo from the Blue Ridge Bobcats in exchange for future considerations.

Alvo, a Toronto native, has played in professional hockey since 2019.

Most recently, Alvo played 15 games with the Blue Ridge Bobcats, where he tallied six points.

Alvo also recorded an assist in Blue Ridge's playoff series against Port Huron.

Alvo started his professional career with HK Spisska Nova Ves in Slovakia.

When Alvo returned to North America, he played with both the Birmingham Bulls of the SPHL and the Jacksonville Icemen of the ECHL during the 2021-22 season.

From 2022-2025 Alvo was a staple with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs of the SPHL. He totaled 83 points in 140 points on the Roanoke blue line.

Alvo brings a veteran presence to the Rockers back end.
