An Anna Maria College product, Gilbert played five seasons for the Amcats, including his senior season where he averaged over a point per game.

After his collegiate career finished, Gilbert spent time with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the SPHL during the 2024-25 season.

In the 2025-26 campaign, Gilbert spent time with three different FPHL teams, the Binghamton Black Bears, the Pee Dee Ice Cats, and the Watertown Wolves.

The six-foot, 185-pound forward will return to the Yack arena, where he played his high school hockey
Gilbert is joined by Trenton native Connor Nagy.

Nagy played his collegiate career first at Finlandia University, and then the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

At the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Nagy helped revive the program after a 20 year dormancy. Nagy was a captain of the Trailblazers for his three seasons there.

As a college signing this past season, Nagy played in 14 games for the Topeka Scarecrows, including both of their playoff games.

Nagy and Gilbert both bring a local flavor to the Rockers, showcasing how strong of a hockey region Downriver is. Nagy and Gilbert drop the puck with Motor City this October, bringing pro hockey to the Yack.
